Teacher Feature: Amanda Posterick, Metzler Elementary

Ms. Amanda Posterick is an extremely dedicated and enthusiastic kindergarten teacher at Metzler Elementary. After spending a moment in her classroom, one is transported to a warm, collaborative, and engaging learning environment.

Ms. Posterick’s journey to becoming a kindergarten educator started with inspiration and encouragement from her own Benfer Elementary kindergarten teacher, Ms. Lauren Smith.

“I knew I wanted to be a teacher so I could create lasting memories for my students that they could carry with them throughout their school years and beyond,” Ms. Posterick said. “I was so excited to have the pleasure of having Ms. Smith read to my own kindergarten class a few years ago.”

Ms. Posterick’s main motivation is also her favorite part of teaching kindergarten.

“My favorite part about teaching kindergarten is witnessing the excitement a child experiences when they discover new skills or reach milestones – such as the first time they read a book on their own, or reach a goal they didn’t think they were capable of,” Ms. Posterick said.

Ms. Posterick is appreciative of her Metzler family and credits them as her major support. She is also encouraged when her former students come back to visit and tell her of the success they achieve after they leave her classroom.

“I work with a dream team of kindergarten teachers that I am honored to call my friends. We support and can depend on one another,” Ms. Posterick said. “I’ve also built strong and everlasting relationships with many of my former students and their families. I love when former students stop by my classroom to say hello, get a hug, or excitedly share about the latest events in their lives.”

Besides being a rockstar kindergarten teacher, Ms. Posterick also serves the Metzler community as the campus Webmaster and Coding Club founder and coach.

“Technology is a passion of mine and I’m proud to have completed my master’s program in Instructional Technology and earned the Master Technology Teacher (MTT) certification. I use technology in my kindergarten classroom to “level up” and personalize my students’ learning,” Ms. Posterick said. “I’m also proud to serve as Metzler’s webmaster, and to have started Metzler’s own Coding Club, which I’ve been coaching since 2016.”

Our #KleinFamily is so grateful for Ms. Posterick, and appreciates everything she does to ensure her students constantly “level up” and experience a strong foundation to the start of their academic journey!
