Metzler's Administrative Team

Mrs. Danis Boone, Principal

Dear Metzler Families,

I am honored and excited to serve as the Principal of Metzler Elementary.  What an honor to become a member of this amazing school community known for its excellence in student academic performance and character development!

I promise to work relentlessly to continue the tradition of excellence that Metzler Elementary is known for by building strong relationships with students, teachers, families and community partners. As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who enters Metzler Elementary feels welcomed and excited to be here! This attitude will allow us to ensure continued academic excellence in an environment that nurtures and develops equipped scholars who are surrounded by engaged and supportive families.

As a devoted educational leader, I am thrilled to join Metzler Elementary and work alongside you as partners in your children’s educational experience.  My first goal is to get to know our staff and students as soon as possible and meet with families and other community stakeholders in the near future. You will learn early on that I am a very visible principal, so expect me to greet you at the door, in the classrooms, in the cafeteria, throughout the school building, and in the community.

As we get to know one another, please let me share a bit about myself.  I’ve had the privilege of serving the Klein ISD community for the past 13 years at various campuses as a teacher and assistant principal and most recently as the assistant principal at Frank Elementary. I am the wife to my amazing husband, James Boone Jr., and I am a proud mother to three wonderful children as well as a proud “GG” to my granddaughter. I love cycling, swimming, taking long walks, cooking, refinishing furniture, and spending time with my family.

I look forward to joining the Metzler family and carrying on the excellent traditions that have been established. Please feel free to contact me anytime, as I am here to serve and support our Metzler students, staff and community. I look forward to working with you as a team to ensure every Metzler Husky enters with a promise and exits with a purpose.

Jessica Taylor
Mrs. Jessica Taylor, Assistant Principal

I am overjoyed at the opportunity to serve our amazing students, families and staff as assistant principal. My love for education started as a small child when I dreamed of becoming a teacher so I could teach children to read. Over the years, I have come to realize the larger impact educators have on a child. This profession is much more than just teaching students content. We are charged with the responsibility to teach students how to be problem solvers, innovators, compassionate friends, respectful citizens and life-long learners so they can be successful and reach their highest potential.

I have been proud to call Metzler my home since it opened in 2005. In my 14 years of teaching, I have taught 3rd grade and Kindergarten. I have had the privilege of working on a Math Curriculum Writing team, participating in several grants, and presenting professional development to teachers while in Klein ISD. I studied elementary and early childhood education at Baylor University (undergraduate) and the University of Houston (graduate), and continued my leadership studies through Lamar University. I am married and have 2 children who are proud to be huskies.

At Metzler, we strive to help our students set goals, be persistent, embrace the challenge, self-reflect, and be curious so they can take ownership of their own learning. I look forward to supporting our students and staff in accomplishing their goals.

Mrs. Chastity Simon, Assistant Principal

Dear Huskies Parents,

My name is Chastity Simon and I am so excited about introducing myself as the new assistant principal of Metzler Elementary School.  I am extremely thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to work in Klein ISD, a district that is known to exemplify high achievement and success for all students.  Over the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity to serve in various roles in Spring ISD.  My experiences include being a teacher, ESL Coordinator, Summer School Principal, and Interim Principal.  In addition, I have had the privilege of serving as assistant principal for the last six years. I have not only worked with students on elementary campuses, but prior to becoming an elementary teacher, I taught in middle school for four years.  After the birth of my second child, I decided to teach elementary.

As a parent with three children, I truly understand the importance of advocating for our students. I believe there is nothing more that a parent desires than to ensure that their child experience success academically, emotionally, and physically.  Therefore, I am dedicated and committed to maintain the standard of excellence that has been exemplified by the staff and administration at Metzler Elementary.

I received my undergraduate degree in Journalism with a minor in Spanish from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, formerly known as Northeast Louisiana University (NLU) …Gooooo WARHAWKS!  From there, I continued my education in Houston, Texas and received a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Saint Thomas University.  Currently, I am pursuing my Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.

Once again, I am elated about the opportunity to serve at Metzler Elementary and getting to know you and your students.  I look forward to serving you all.

Chastity Simon
