Metzler's Administrative Team
Ms. Lakita Combs, Principal
Dear Metzler Families,

It is truly an honor to serve as your Elementary School Principal. I’m looking forward to working with the families of our school community as we get ready to share an exciting and fulfilling school year in our continued efforts to make Metzler the best in every way. Being a principal is a rewarding profession and helping foster a child’s education at the ground level by creating a love of knowledge can never be taken away. Elementary students are especially enjoyable to be around; their honesty and sincerity are unmatched. A new child in an elementary classroom needs only to walk through the door and they have an entirely new circle of good friends. Since I started teaching I’ve been passionate in my commitment to three things; maximizing individual student performance, inspiring students’ interest and love for learning, and instilling a sense of self-worth and citizenship among all students. Rest assured the staff and I will take the responsibility for getting your children off to a great start in their education. We’ll maintain high expectations and employ sound fundamental strategies in reading, writing, and mathematics. We will work to instill values of citizenship into their daily lives. I encourage family and community members to become actively involved at Metzler and help make a difference in a child’s life.

I have over twenty years of teaching experience and I’m in my eighth year as an administrator. I started my career in Klein as a second grade teacher at Schultz Elementary. I’ve worked at Metzler since the school opened in the fall of 2005. I served as a second grade teacher and as a Mathematics Instructional Specialist. I’ve also had the opportunity to work in the Klein ISD Curriculum and Instruction Department as the Elementary Math and Science Program Coordinator. My preparation in education began as an undergraduate at the University of Louisiana in Monroe. I completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University. I'm looking forward to getting to know each Husky and to another amazing school year.

Mrs. Jessica Taylor, Assistant Principal
I am overjoyed at the opportunity to serve our amazing students, families and staff as assistant principal. My love for education started as a small child when I dreamed of becoming a teacher so I could teach children to read. Over the years, I have come to realize the larger impact educators have on a child. This profession is much more than just teaching students content. We are charged with the responsibility to teach students how to be problem solvers, innovators, compassionate friends, respectful citizens and life-long learners so they can be successful and reach their highest potential.

I have been proud to call Metzler my home since it opened in 2005. In my 14 years of teaching, I have taught 3rd grade and Kindergarten. I have had the privilege of working on a Math Curriculum Writing team, participating in several grants, and presenting professional development to teachers while in Klein ISD. I studied elementary and early childhood education at Baylor University (undergraduate) and the University of Houston (graduate), and continued my leadership studies through Lamar University. I am married and have 2 children who are proud to be huskies.

At Metzler, we strive to help our students set goals, be persistent, embrace the challenge, self-reflect, and be curious so they can take ownership of their own learning. I look forward to supporting our students and staff in accomplishing their goals.
Mrs. Stacey Vaglienty, Assistant Principal
Metzler Families,

I am so excited to be a part of the Metzler family. I am a proud product of Klein schools. I graduated from Klein Oak High School and attended college at Texas Tech University, Sam Houston State University, and Lamar University. I began my career in education in Aldine ISD as a middle school teacher. After falling in love with teaching reading and writing to seventh and eighth graders, I yearned to understand how students developed their foundations in writing and transferred to Klein ISD to teach fourth grade. I have been here ever since working at both Kohrville Elementary and Bernshausen Elementary. Coming from a family of educators, I believe that all students can learn and meet their goals. As assistant principal, it is my honor to help guide and lead our students as they achieve their best. I am married with two children, Elise and Charlie. I enjoy running, reading and spending time with family and friends. As the new assistant principal, I look forward to meeting each of you and impacting our students as they embark on this year’s adventure and embrace new challenges.
